چکیده

Orofacial granulomatosis (OFG) is an uncommon disorder characterized by persistent enlargement of the soft tissues lips, oral mucosa, and area around mouth. It has uncertain etiology, but relationship with metal allergy, odontogenic infection, Crohn’s disease been reported. We report on 24 patients OFG we experienced in past 19 years between 2004 2022. They were all diagnosed histological examination. The female to male ratio was 15 9, average age 47.8 old. Involved sites lip (18), cheek (5), eyelid (6), forehead (2) jaw (1). Two had a wrinkled tongue without facial palsy. Metal allergy detected patch test 8 patients. Almost (19) treated medicines such as anti-allergic agents, minocycline, tranilast, dapsone prednisolone either alone or combination. symptoms improved patients, flared up 2 them. investigated whether macrophages infiltrating lesional skin mucosa predominantly M1 M2 using CD40, CD163, CD206 staining, tended be granuloma lesion.

(m1,m2)-Convexity and Some New Hermite-Hadamard Type Inequalities

In this manuscript, a new class of extended (m1,m2)-convex and concave functions is introduced. After some properties of (m1,m2)-convex functions have been given, the inequalities obtained with Hölder and Hölder-İşcan and power-mean and improwed power-mean integral inequalities have been compared and it has been shown that the inequality with Hölder-İşcan inequality gives a better approach than...

Orofacial Granulomatosis.

Orofacial granulomatosis (OFG) is an uncommon chronic inflammatory disorder of the orofacial region. It is characterized by subepithelial noncaseating granulomas and has a spectrum of possible clinical manifestations ranging from subtle oral mucosal swelling to permanent disfiguring fibrous swelling of the lips and face. Etiopathogenesis is unknown. A range of systemic granulomatous disorders, ...

Anatomy of a Discovery: M1 and M2 Macrophages

M1 and M2 macrophage-type responses kill or repair in vivo. The unique ability of macrophages to make these polar opposite type of responses provides primary host protection and maintains tissue homeostasis throughout the animal kingdom. In humans and other higher animals, M1 and M2-type macrophage responses also initiate and direct T cells/adaptive immunity to provide additional protection suc...

Orofacial granulomatosis

RATIONALE Orofacial granulomatosis (OFG) is a rare disease characterized by noncaseating granulomatous inflammation. The most common clinical presentation is persistent swelling of the soft tissues in the oral and maxillofacial regions. The precise cause of OFG is unknown. Corticosteroids are the first-line and best treatment, but there is lack of uniform treatment prescription and standard. It...

Novel Markers to Delineate Murine M1 and M2 Macrophages

Classically (M1) and alternatively activated (M2) macrophages exhibit distinct phenotypes and functions. It has been difficult to dissect macrophage phenotypes in vivo, where a spectrum of macrophage phenotypes exists, and also in vitro, where low or non-selective M2 marker protein expression is observed. To provide a foundation for the complexity of in vivo macrophage phenotypes, we performed ...
